Dear Yaya and Littlefat,
Thank you for your sharing your experience with me.
I am still undicided if getting a gown in there or rent one in Taiwan. My mom only ask USD 5000 from my fiance to cover the " wedding cookies" and Wedding Gown, I don't know if it's enough.
My favorite gown is from Acra Reem and i dont' think you can rent one in Taiwan.

by the way, i had my marriage certificate done in Santa Ana court house too ^_^

呵呵,真巧,我們會去santa ana court是因為我們就住orange county呀!那天因為長假剛過所以人很少,速戰速決.
我想$5000應該夠了吧!喜餅$3000以內應該可以搞定,我爸也是說要10萬台幣的餅錢.不過reem acra的禮服好像蠻貴的樣子耶,就不知道$2,000可不可以挑到你中意的.不過像david’s bridal的禮服就便宜又實惠多了,一件只要幾百塊就有很漂亮的.上次看tinawnag1207水水挑禮服的照片.都很漂亮呀!尤其他最後買的那件很讚喔!我不清楚你要不要回台灣包套(就是連拍婚紗加租禮服),因為包套跟單租禮服的內容跟價錢差別很大喔!

還有,麻煩的我還有問題想問你,你綠卡是在santa ana送的嗎?不然為什麼你會去santa ana的ins呢?
其實我不急著要用工作簽證,但是我要有工作簽證才能去辦social security number,沒有ssn,我不能辦老公他公司的保險,現在快報稅了沒ssn也不能報,連辦joint account都不行(他那家銀行很龜毛,一定要ssn,現在只能辦BOA而已)…不知道有沒有辦法不用工作簽證就可以先 申請ssn.我現在只希望我的請假證可以先下來,我很怕他三月底還不下來,這樣我四月就不能回台灣…嗚...ins很慢,我的律師又很敷衍我...

hum... US$5000 for gown and wedding cookies might be a bit strechy, especially if you want Reem Acra's gown, which is very, very , pricey... If you want to keep within that budget, which I think you should, just for the sake of your married life, you should choose a different gown company.

My gown only cost me about $600 in US ($1000 in Canadian), and it is by Anjolique. Just take a look at its websites to see whether you like its style. Its gowns are not that pricey comparing to Reem Acra and are very unique in its kind. Also, gowns at David's Bridal are getting better nowadays, with an affordable price.

Gowns in Taiwan have a different taste and style..... I am not experienced with that.

hi littlefat,
i just send you a email to your ver "hot" box, hopefully it went thru.
as i said, i went to Santa Ana's ins with my brother for his employeement authorizaton card since his file is in that location
we went to INS, got the card and then went to SSN and DMV on the same day.
go check your email and let me know if there is anything i can help
