You are getting married in TX? I live in Dallas/Fort Worth TX. Which part of TX are you moving to?
If I remember correctly, there are two parts:
First, purchase a marriage license:
You and your fiancée need to go to the courthouse at the same time to purchase a marriage license (it was $25 at that time). A photo I.D. such as driver’s license or passport is needed. There are some forms to be filled out, and after 72 hours of cooling period, you can get married.
Second, getting married in the court:
Call the court office that you would like to have your wedding ceremony held to make an appointment. The officer will ask for your legal name and name that you would like to be called by your family and friends and also ask you if you are going to have your vow or if you don’t they will use the traditional vow. The fee was $50 at that time.
Hope this post gives you some ideas. If you have any questions, please post again. I will do my best to help you.
It was a short ceremony for us, only very few friends from work attended the ceremony because we decided to get married with a very short notice and not very well planned. In my mine it was still a beautiful wedding, very short, sweet, and private.
Sorry for typing in English. I’ll practice more Chinese typing at home.
Really pleasuse to receive your reply mail. Tks again. Yes, I'll live in Dallas after getting married the same with you. Last year I went there and been lived five weeks, as my impression there's nothing fun. Of course my boyfriend and I went to Mexico for vacation, you know we really love there because both of us can speak Spainsh. I don't have friend in Dallas up to now. Can I call you at your conveinece time if I need to know something?
I'm glad to know that you are going to live in Dallas area. I live in Fort Worth, about one hour of driving from Dallas. However, we may be moving to other area of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex as we are looking into buying a house.
I know you what you meant that you said living in Dallas is kind of boring. I definitely agree with you. I kind of get used to the living style here after so many years. I keep myself pretty busy, so that I'm not bored to death.
It's great that you and your boyfriend speak Spanish because there are a lot of Spanish speakers in TX. I bet you had a lot of fun in Mexico. I've never been in Mexico; I would love to visit Mexico someday.
Please call me if you have anything that I can help you with. I'm not able to e-mail you because your e-mail was deleted by the board due to the user rules. Anyways, please e-mail me first, and I will e-mail you back with my number.
