各位帥哥美女大家好,

I'm from Canada and I'm wondering if anyone can give me some advice...

Me and my fiance is considering to come backt o Taiwan at the end of the year to buy stuff (wedding invitation, wedding dresses, party favours) for our wedding next year in Canada... 不知道在台灣買禮服比較划算？ any recommendations?

I most likely will choose Sophia-ritz (I really like their photography) for 婚紗照...

I have read a lot of feedback on VW, and I'm wondering if anyone has similar situation as me (go back to Taiwan只純拍照with Sophia-ritz), if so can you share your experience at Sophia?

hello, i have almost the same thing as u. where u live in canda. I used to live in Vancouver for long long time. anyhow

i have two wedding coming up in May (Italy) and June in Taiwan. i took the photo with Sophia. and love it!!!

invitaion - if you like the taiwan style order in taiwan it is prettier.

party flavor. if you like chinese style get in taiwan but there are a lot of cute things online from U.S. try weddingchannel.com or theknot.com i got some of my gift for italy at U.S. and gift for taiwan in Taiwan

dresses- Sophia has a lot of pretty dresses. the truth is it is cheaper to rent it from them since it is in the package. i am having my relative to bring 2 of the dresses to italy this May :P my wedding dress i brought one in italy and i will use what sophia provide in the taiwan party. if you live close to U.S u can also go to davidbridal. they have lots of bridal dresses that are pretty.

sophia is famous for dress. it is expensive. the service.. nice. but u have to bug them a lot. not because they dont care just because they are busy. ask and remind them they will always help u out.

Thank you so much for your reply! I live in Calgary, but I visit Van often for getaways! I'm happy to hear that your experience at Sophia turned out great! Beacause I was having doubts with some of the negative feedbacks on VW....

I have contacted their customer service and they gave me the prices for the packages... I'm thinking just to get the one with only 30 pics and outdoors shoot since I only have one little wedding in Canada... I think its too much hassle for my relatives to bring the dresses to Canada for me and I dont know how to return it after the wedding either..... so I rather just buy in TW... As long as the dresses are pretty in my Sophia's photography, I'm okay with that... ^_^

I will definitely check out those websites that you recommended!

I do notice that wedding invitation and party flavor is much cheaper in TW than over here...

If you don't mind.... I will email you (if I need more advisce and info) as I start to plan this TW trip....

I have similar situation,too. But I went to SRMT, not Sophia-ritz. However, I do have the price Sophia-ritz email me.
You can check my wedding photos experience with SRMT. If you like the package I have or
you want to know the price Sophia-ritz quoted me, you can send private message to me.



wedding invitation: made in Taiwan. coz my dad owns printing shop in Taiwan

wedding gown: my wedding will be on 5/10/08 in USA. I bought my wedding gown last week here and still looking for a night dress.
I will another wedding banquet in Taipei by the end of Dec.
I will rent the dress from SRMT (the wedding photo stuid)

Thank you for your reply! I have take a look at your pics and your 經驗談.. And your pics looks really great!!!

So far, I have only look into Sophia and after seen your pics and your experience, I may get quotes from other places (perhaps SMRT ^_^) I will show your pics to my other half and tell him about your great experience at SMRT...

I'm just wondering if you can tell me if you did any dress/ men's tuxedo shopping while you are in TW? Because that's part of the reason why we are going back to TW...

so happy to hear that you like our photos.

I didn't shop the dress in tw.
SRMT provided all the dresses and tuxedo for our wedding photos. i even got two brand new for the wedding photos.

for wedding banquet in USA: I purchased my own wedding gown. For my boyfriend, my mom got him a Hugo Boss suit here. So he'll have that one for the wedding banquet.

Thank you for your info! We are thinking to purchase my wedding gown (maybe a chinese traditional red one with phoenix crown if I can find a place that sell the traditional groom and bride shop in TW), chinese qi-pao, a evening gown and a tux or suit for my fiance in TW.. And since we are there anyway (for 2 weeks), I want to do wedding photo shoot as well....

I'll definitely let you know if I need to contact SRMT customer service ^_^ (just waiting to hear from my fiance's opinion....)

I saw someone's post before and she said their dresses are numerous and quite good. They offer dress rental in Taiwan, but I found that they sell the dresses in Japan also.

So, maybe you could contact them for more info.
(Oh, don't tell them you've checked their Japanese website in the very first beginning. I believe you can get much lower price than the Japanese one.)

Hi HollyAlan,

Actually, while I was researching for places to take my wedding pics, I saw your photo album and it motivated me to contact Sophia for their package pricing!

I have contacted Brooke @ Sophia and so far, I leaning 80% towards having pics taken at Sophia ( I love their dress and their photographer style) , but I want to take my time and see if there are more option available for me.... I will make a decision by the end of this week... I really want to take pic by 王里, andI don't mind to pay NT$10000 extra, but they don't offer it for my package... >_<


I'm so happy that you have suggested a place in TW for me to buy wedding gowns, because it seems TW brides normally rent, not buy, so I'm having trouble to find wedding gown shop on the net... I will definitely check out 喜多坊!

If I do decide to choose Sophia, is there anything I should watch out for? I want to have a stylist or stylist's assistant for my outdoor scenes (I will probably only have one indoor scene and the rest is outdoor) but I don't know if it's a good idea or not...

Any recommendations or suggestions?

How come they don't offer you 王里? Anyway, I think some other photographers are great also, such as 貓哥.

Yeah, you should take an assistant stylist if you'll have only one indoor scene. I heard from my stylist that brides from HK love outdoor shooting, and some of them even choose to shoot thoroughly outdoors.
If you really like outdoor shooting, you just do it and tell them what you want. I believe things will go smoothly since they've had lots of experience already.

If I were you, I would shoot the white wedding gown for the only indoor scene because it's typical and classic.

Thank you for your advice!

They said 王里 is only offer at a certain package price and since I only want to get the pics done by them (even though I don't mind to pay NT10000 extra on top of my package) I won't be able to have him.... I'm most likely gonna go with 阿介... And for sure I want a scene at Sophia's imfamous spiral stairway with nice white gowns! ^_^

I will for sure post pic next year (taking pics at the end of 2008)!
